If you're arriving from American Samoa, you'll land at the Faleolo Regional Airport, which is different from the Faleolo International Airport. Please note: Faleolo Regional Airport has no banks, currency exchange services, or ATMs available. The closest place to exchange currency or withdraw cash is at the Faleolo International Airport, a short drive away. ATMs are usually available at the International Airport, but bank counters and Western Union are only open during major international flight arrivals. 💡 Important Travel Tip: Before leaving American Samoa, we highly recommend converting some of your funds into Samoan Tala (WST) and bringing it with you. This will help cover immediate costs like transportation, the airport exit fee, or your car rental deposit. If you arrive without any Samoan currency, you can take the free shuttle from Faleolo Regional Airport to Faleolo International Airport. While currency exchange services and Western Union are only open during major international flight arrivals, ATMs are available at all times for cash withdrawals.

Yes, you can exchange foreign currency to Samoan Tala (WST) at Faleolo International Airport — but it's important to know when and where to do it. There are two main options to exchange your money upon arrival: 1. Inside the Baggage Claim Area As you collect your luggage, you’ll find: *Western Union (Currency One) *BSP Bank (Bank South Pacific) Both offer foreign currency exchange services. If they are open when you arrive, this is the most convenient place to convert your money right away. 2. Just After Exiting the Arrival Gate If you miss the exchange counters inside baggage claim, or if they are closed, there are additional exchange counters outside. *Western Union (Currency One) *BSP (Bank South Pacific) *National Bank of Samoa ⚠️ Please note: Bank and exchange counter hours are often based on the arrival of major international flights. If you arrive during off-peak hours, these services may not be open. However, there’s good news — ATM machines are available 24/7 at the airport. You can use international debit or credit cards to withdraw Samoan Tala directly. This is a reliable option if you need cash immediately and exchange services are closed. 💡 Tip: The exchange rates are the same whether you use Currency One or BSP, either at the baggage claim area or outside the arrivals area.
